PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Ecolab has received a 2015 Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Food Expo Innovation Award for the development of DrySan™ Duo, an innovative EPA-registered technology providing the first no-rinse cleaner and sanitizer for dry- or low-moisture processing environments.
Presented to Ecolab by the IFT at its Annual Meeting & Food Expo in Chicago, the award honors outstanding innovation in products, ingredients, applications, instruments, equipment, technology and services. Judging criteria for the award includes solving for a problem relevant to food science and technology, technical advancement, scientific merit, benefits to food manufacturers and/or consumers and other criteria, and was performed by a panel of jurors from industry, academia, and government.
The development of DrySan Duo demonstrates Ecolab's ongoing commitment to promote and advance food safety. The food and beverage processing industry has long wrestled with cleaning and sanitizing in dry-processing environments. Typical solutions are labor intensive and often not optimal in ensuring food safety and quality, productivity or worker safety. DrySan Duo was designed to address these challenges, helping customers effectively and efficiently provide safe food to consumers.

DrySan Duo is an effective two-step, ready-to-use cleaner and sanitizer that reduces or eliminates the need to introduce water to clean moisture-sensitive environments, such as when dry ingredients are used in milling or baking processes.
